Architectural Rural New Build

An architecturally designed rural residence positioned on a prominent lower Wairau Valley ridge, constructed with macrocarpa cladding, high-performance systems, and disciplined site planning to deliver durability, environmental efficiency, and expansive indoor-outdoor living in a demanding rural setting.

A new architecturally designed residence constructed on an generous ridge site in the lower Wairau Valley, requiring careful coordination between design intent and environmental performance.

Site positioning was critical to maximise solar gain, manage prevailing winds, and capture expansive valley and coastal views. The build demanded disciplined planning and execution to ensure durability in a challenging rural environment.

The home is clad in macrocarpa and constructed using high-performance glazing and mechanical systems to enhance thermal efficiency and year-round comfort. Interior planning prioritises open-plan living with strong indoor-outdoor connection through multiple covered exterior areas.

The kitchen features Dekton benchtops, induction cooking, and a full scullery, combining practical workflow with clean architectural detailing. The home comprises three bedrooms and two bathrooms within a refined, efficient footprint.

Additional works included construction of a lined three-bay implement shed with timber flooring and dual roller doors, along with extensive site preparation, landscaping integration, structured lawns, raised vegetable beds, and significant native planting.

A rural architectural build delivered with precision, environmental consideration, and long-term performance at its core.
