Winner supreme renovation award at House of the Year competition 2016

George Guthrie Construction takes out the supreme renovation award!

George Guthrie Construction has taken out the supreme renovation award at the Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast House of the Year competition!!

George, creative architect Jarrod Midgley and the house owner (a good friend of George’s) worked closely to achieve this extremely well-crafted renovation and it has really paid off for all involved.
Concrete floors and benchtops, a recycled rimu feature wall and seamless flow between the studio workspace and living quarters helped the Springlands house took out the category.
Judges said the winning entry was a clever architectural transformation and an overwhelming credit to the builder, architect and artistic homeowner.

On the Brightside – Sponsoring Bright Futures

We were pleased to be involved in a great fundraising event recently with the Brightside II auction of local artists’ work, all the proceeds of which went to the James Plummer Memorial Trust. This trust endows a scholarship fund at Outward Bound to help young people attend the course and improve their confidence and physical and mental wellbeing.

George Guthrie Construction got involved, sponsoring the night with a BBQ at the event, which was held at a fantastic ‘shed’ which we’d just finished renovating. We like the idea of sponsoring bright futures for the next generation and were happy to do our bit.

All restricted building work requires you use a licensed building practitioner (LBP) – to do it.
